CCTV footage of an armed robbery at Bargain Booze on New Road, Littleborough has been released.

Shortly after 7am on Friday 1 July 2016 two men went into Bargain Booze. One man produced a knife and threatened to stab a staff member if she did not open the safe while the second man leapt over the counter and forced open the till, taking cash from inside.

The staff member managed to shrug off one of the men and escape through the front door.

Both men then fled on foot towards Crowther Street.

The first man is described as white, 5ft 11in, slim build, very pale skin, in his 20's and clean shaven. He was wearing a black and grey hooded top with his hood up.

The second man was wearing dark clothing with his hood up.

Detective Sergeant Louise Ashurst, of GMP’s Rochdale borough, said: “This was a brazen robbery which left the victim terrified.

“This happened early in the morning on a busy road where lots of people would have been heading to work in the morning.

“We would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen anything that can help our investigation to come forward.

“We would also like to appeal to anyone who recognises the men shown in the CCTV footage to contact police.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111
