Anthony Johnson jailed for assaulting and stabbing a woman

Anthony Johnson has been jailed after viciously assaulting and stabbing a woman in Littleborough.

Johnson (05/12/1985), of HMP Forest Bank, has been sentenced at Manchester Crown Court to 15 years in prison with a five-year extended licence.

He was also made the subject of an indefinite restraining order.

Johnson pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm and causing actual bodily harm.

On Saturday 24 October 2015, Johnson punched a 24 year-old woman to the ground.
Whilst on the floor, Johnson continued to punch the victim to the head several times.

On Sunday 1 November 2015, Johnson stabbed the woman five times, in the back, the stomach and the arm.

Detective Constable Sam Taylor from GMP’s Rochdale Division said: “Johnson is a violent bully who has left his victim physically and psychologically scarred.

“We are just glad she managed to escape with her life.

“We are very pleased with today’s sentence and would like thank the victim for her bravery.”
