Matthew Chrimes visits St Cuthbert's from Bradford Bulls youth rugby team

Past pupil, Matthew Chrimes came back into St Cuthbert's yesterday during his day off from training with the Bradford Bulls youth rugby team. Matthew says he is really enjoying his time with the Rugby League club who currently sit 4th in the Kingstone Press Championship table and has aspirations of breaking into the first team in the next few years. He came into school to catch up with the PE department and brought along a signed Bradford Bulls shirt which will be framed and soon be on the wall along with ex pupils Kisimba Kisimba, Jonny Diba, Axel Tuanzebe and Connor Ronan. Well done Matthew, keep up the great work! We value all of our past students and it is a real honour when they come back to visit us.

In other news the year 11 football team beat Wardle last night 3-2 and currently sit top of their division in the Rochdale League with one game to play and have also progressed to the semi-final of the Rochdale Cup. We wish all the boys the best of luck.

Year 11 rounders team

Our Year 11 rounders team played in their final tournament for St Cuthbert’s yesterday.
They battled hard against teams from St. Monica’s, St Bede’s, St Gabriel’s and Newman College. After some stand out performances from H. Peel, A. Wood and E. Buckley, scoring some fantastic shots; producing lots of rounders, coupled with some outstanding tight fielding, the team finished as runners up of the tournament. It was a wonderful afternoon and we are extremely proud of all girls who took part.
