Sudden junctions update
Date published: 19/11/2007
All lanes are now open at the Silk Street roundabout, but minor traffic restrictions will be in operation on Silk Street and Manchester Old Road. This is during the electricity diversion works, which commence on Monday 26 November for 3 to 4 weeks. The footpath on Silk Street next to the sub-station will remain closed until this work is completed, with a temporary diversion in place. All gas mains diversions are now complete, and all excavations will be reinstated by Tuesday 20 November,
Off peak lane closures are necessary on Northbound Manchester Road, east of Roch Valley Way, as well as on the stretch of Manchester Road between the two roundabouts. This is to facilitate the erection of the new street lights. The bus stop is now operational.
Off peak lane closures are also in operation on Roch Valley Way during the installation of the new lighting columns. The footpath between the Waggon amp; Horses and the Clog amp; Shawl pubs is now re-opened.
Throughout the resurfacing works between the entrance to Aldi and the roundabout, off peak lane closures will be required on both sides of the road.
Delays are expected so please allow extra time for your journey.
