Rochdale to host leading Muslim scholar

Rochdale based multi-faith group Deen For All are hosting a world famous Shaykh at an event later this month. Tickets have completely sold out to see Muslim scholar Shaykh Khalid Yasin at the Gracie Fields Theatre later this month. The Shaykh has converted thousands to Islam and has lectured on the religion in 37 different countries.
He will appear alongside a top British Muslim spokesman, Shaykh Zahir. The two men will talk, at event called 'Holding onto the Rope of Allah', about the challenges facing Islam in the modern world.
Born a Christian in New York City, it was not until 1965 that Shaykh Khalid Yasin embraced Islam. Since then he has lectured all over the world and converted 15,000 people to the religion. He is the Chairman of the Islamic Information Trust (ITT), The Islamic Information Network (IIN) and Purpose TV.
Shaykh Zahir completed his Islamic education in various leading establishments within the UK, Pakistan and South Africa. Following graduation at a relatively young age the Shaykh founded and now successfully runs an Islamic Institute in Birmingham. He has also written books and produced CD’s on Islam and these will also be available on the evening.
