Work placement success for Rochdale Sixth Form College

Date published: 08 August 2018

Students from Rochdale Sixth Form College recently completed career placements with employers from across the region.

The organisations involved this year included the Pennine Accute Hospitals NHS Trust, The Casey Group, Drugmart Pharmacy, Ernst & Young, The Eye Clinic, Gatley Read Chartered Acountants, PMM Accountants, Oulder Hill School, Tetrosyl, United Utilities and Weightmans Law Firm amongst others.

Sarah Pollard, employability and career placement co-ordinator at Rochdale Sixth Form College, said: “We are very grateful to all the organisations that have supported our career placement scheme over the years and we are very proud of all the students who were fantastic ambassadors for the college.

"Work experience is so beneficial, and we are always keen to hear from any other businesses who would like to work with us.  Not only is it a great opportunity for the students to gain experience but they are also prepared to work very hard and be an asset to any organisation.”

As part of tutorial lessons students develop their skills in CV writing, completing job applications, telephone skills and verbal and non-verbal communication.
