Middleton Round Table donated £500 worth of food to the Middleton Foodbank

Date published: 09 December 2017

Middleton Round Table has donated £500 worth of food to the Middleton Foodbank.

Carl Roach, Director, Middleton Lighthouse Project, said: “The food bank provides much needed support for some of the most vulnerable people in our community and we are extremely grateful for the support we receive from the people of Middleton.

“The demand on the food bank is particularly heavy at this time of the year and our continued aim is never to send those who need our support most away empty handed.

“I would also appeal for donations in January and February as previously, we have experienced a fall in support during those months as the bills for Christmas arrive through people’s letter boxes.”

Peter Shore, President of Middleton Round Table, said: “We are delighted to give our support to the Middleton Foodbank. We are a small group who work hard throughout the year to raise money which we only spend on projects in the Middleton area.

“I would urge the people of Middleton to come along to the Lighthouse Project in Middleton Shopping Centre and make a donation to the food bank.

“The hardship that some people experience is real and the volunteers at the Foodbank are working hard to ease the burden of those less fortunate than ourselves.”
