Mark Knowles returns to Hopwood Hall College

Date published: 19 October 2017

Whilst on leave from his coaching role in China, Mark Knowles returned to Hopwood Hall College to pass on his knowledge to the next generation.

The former student now trains youth teams in China with ‘City Football Schools’ as part of China’s bid to raise the football’s profile in its many provinces.

Mr Knowles held training sessions with students following in his footsteps.

He said: “The years I spent at Hopwood Hall were probably up there with the best I have ever had, so to come back and work with young adults that were in the same position I was has been fantastic.

“It has been great to try and pass the message on to these young lads that if playing does not work out for you, there are so many other career paths you can still aim for.

“For myself it has also nice to come home. I am loving my time in China and being a part of such a big project, but it is nice to come back into the familiar now and then.”
