A Charity Music Festival at Rochdale Town Hall on Saturday night raised £3,500 for local charities.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale, Ian and Christine Duckworth, attended.

There was music from John Alexander the Singing Jeweller accompanied by dancing by children from Fiona's Fab Dance Studio.

The evening ended with dancing with multi award-winning vocalist, Kevin Anthony.

There was a selection of great prizes raffled and auctioned, including a £1,000 jewellery voucher auctioned - donated by J & D Alexander.

Organiser John Alexander said: “We had great support from Ian and Christine Duckworth, our Mayor and Mayoress.

“The night raised a magnificent £3,500 for our local charities, and thank you to everyone who came.

“£2,000 from Saturday night's music night went to Rochdale Moorlands Children’s Home.

“Other charities to benefit from the evening will be Springhill Hospice, Dementia UK and ELMC (East Lancashire Masonic Charity).
