M&Y Maintenance and Construction donates a van to Petrus

M&Y Maintenance and Construction, which operates across the North West, has donated a van to Petrus Community to help the charity in its mission to provide housing services to people at risk of homelessness.

Now sporting the Petrus Community branding, staff from the charity were delighted to receive the vehicle during a recent visit to M&Y’s depot.

Martin Topham, Project Leader at Petrus Community, said: “We are delighted to receive this van from M&Y Maintenance and Construction.

“Charitable donations such as this one are vital to providing us with the tools to do our work across Rochdale, Rossendale and Oldham.

“Everyone at Petrus is made up with how great the van looks, complete with branding.

“I would like to thank M&Y and all of the partners who have worked together to provide us with this vehicle.”

Ian Phair, Fleet Manager at M&Y Maintenance and Construction, said: “We recently procured a new fleet of vehicles and wanted to make sure the old vans got put to good use.

“We have worked with Petrus Community before, and really understand how important the work they do for people in Rochdale and the surrounding area is.

“I would also like to thank all the local business who provided services for free or at a substantially reduced cost. Their support was vital in getting the van ready to go.”

The organisation worked with a range of partners to repurpose the van, including In and Out Valeting, S&S Motors and AVS who are all based in St Helens, and The Sign Box, based in Oldham.

As well as donating the van, M&Y covered all the costs associated with repurposing the vehicle and providing a 12-month MOT.

Petrus Community provides housing and support to people who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. It aims to empower and engage with service users to help prevent them from returning to the streets.
