Election campaigning Beech House School

Election fever hit Beech House School this week as the five student ‘party leaders’, supported by their campaign managers, all released their manifestos.

Questioning on the hustings was poignant: can you deliver on your promises, how is it going to be funded? It looks like we are in for an interesting campaign.

Year 10 at Speke House

The Year 10 pupils arrived at the beautiful Speke House on a gorgeous summer day.

They were greeted by a guide who led them on a tour of the house.

First, they gained an insight into the family of the house by visiting the dovecote and investigating the front of the house, this led to the conclusion that the family were wealthy.

Next, the tour moved on to investigated the secrets of the house and revealed the family’s catholic religion in the times of the Reformation.

After a lunch sitting outside enjoying the sunshine, the pupils then entered the classroom for the afternoon activities.

The pupils were able to create a pomander using ribbons and herbs. They also had the chance to dress up in Tudor clothing.

Quarter final of the ISA under 11 Knockout Cup

An hour’s drive up the M6 took Beech House to Preston for a quarter final of the ISA under 11 Knockout Cup against Highfield Prep.

A sloppy start to the game meant that Beech House were a goal behind within five minutes of kick off.

The lead was doubled towards the end of the first half, which made life very difficult. The hosts added a third after Reuben Rasaki and Rico Bernales went close, however Harry

Meekings scored a fantastic consolation with five minutes remaining. No semi-final but a cup run the students can be proud of.

Dance Crew

As with their previous dance event, the Dance Crew were dressed brightly and were extremely excited to perform their moves at Middleton Arena - this time in front of 200 people.

A total of 20 performances were on display, and all schools did themselves extremely proud.

The show was also enhanced with two beautiful performances from Oulder Hill’s GCSE dance students. This was a glimpse of the standards that the younger students will aspire to achieve later in life. The Beech House students put on their best performance yet: they were bold and assertive, but more importantly, the students simply enjoyed it.
