‘Ask for Angela’ campaign supported by Middleton Pubwatch

Date published: 12 April 2017

Middleton Pubwatch is supporting the ‘Ask Angela’ campaign over the Easter holidays.

The campaign, launched in late 2016 in Lincoln, is aimed at both men and women and designed to help customers who may find themselves in an unsafe situation that they may not be able to get out of.

Whether a date hasn’t gone to plan, or an online date isn’t who they claimed to be, the code indicates the person needs some help. Anyone who feels unsafe or threatened can go to the bar and ask for ‘Angela’. The bar staff will then help you call a taxi and help you discreetly, without any fuss.

It has since been rolled out across the UK after images of the poster went viral, even capturing the attention of actor Ashton Kutcher, who deemed it ‘a great idea’.

All public houses in Middleton will have clear posters indicating they are members of Middleton Pubwatch.
