Date published: 11 April 2017
Police are warning residents of Balderstone and Kirkholt to be particularly vigilant after an increase of motor thefts in the area.
The roads most affected are:
- During the afternoons - Oldham Road at the junction of Queen Victoria Street, Iceland on Well 'I'Th' Lane, Gordon Street and Platting Lane.
- During the evenings - Badger Lane and Craiglands
Delivery drivers are urged to lock their vehicles before delivering goods, and everyone is reminded to ensure their vehicles are locked at all times.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Please think about what you are leaving in your vehicle: hide your valuables from view, or better still, take them out of your vehicle. Do not to leave property on show in your vehicles and ensure it is locked at all times.
“Don’t fall victim to crime in this way.”
If you see any suspicious behaviour, please ring 101 without delay or 999 if you witness a crime actually taking place.
