Letter: I am concerned with aspects of the latest Spotland and Falinge Forum meeting

Date published: 04 June 2018

Dear Editor,

I am a little concerned with aspects of the latest Spotland and Falinge Forum meeting.

I felt that the meeting verged on bullying of one of the members. It appeared to me that the issue of Falinge Park could have been dealt with in a more even-handed way.

People had differing views, but I felt that the views of one member with regards to transparency were aggressively and excessively criticised by some members and one of the councillors.

The chairperson also seemed to adopt that views of one side and it might have been more appropriate if he stepped down temporarily for that issue to express his personal views.

This is not an official complaint, but perhaps members can be reminded of the code of conduct with regard to dignity at meetings and political affiliation.

We need to hear everyone's views in a polite and reasonable way.
