Letter: Councillors' integrity

Date published: 14 May 2018

Dear Editor,

The investigation of Councillor Brett's position as a councillor is welcome.

However, 29 fellow Labour councillors voted to elect him as the Labour Group leader, and therefore leader of the council.

They did this in the knowledge of the comments he made which have now led to his investigation.

Therefore, their actions must open them to investigation as they have implicitly approved his actions and comments.

Who are the 29 who acted in this way? Will they own up or are they too ashamed to do so?

Are my three councillors (Spotland and Falinge Ward) among the 29 or did they have the decency and integrity to oppose Councillor Brett?
