Geoff Butterworth exhibition

Date published: 29 June 2015

The Rotary Club of Rochdale have announced that the charity ‘pop up’ art exhibition, which stocked 100 original paintings by artist Geoff Butterworth, is to close on Friday 17 July 2015.

Located in the Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre, the exhibition will come to an end on Friday 17 July after the Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Surinder Biant has drawn the winning raffle tickets for the raffle in aid of Rochdale Children’s Moorland Home at 1pm.

The raffle is for the chance to win an original watercolour painting of Rochdale Parish Church viewed from the bowling green. There are three limited edition prints for the runners up.

Tickets can be purchased in the exhibition.

The Rotary Club of Rochdale are now urging anyone who wishes to visit the exhibition to do so before it ends.

Over the last three months, the exhibition has been staffed by six ladies who are now seeking employment.

Having previously been unemployed, the work experience at the exhibition has helped the ladies gain confidence to deal with members of the public and has made them ‘job ready.’

It is now hoped that the ladies can find employment following their time at the exhibition, otherwise they will be made redundant when the exhibition closes.

The ladies have been supervised by Rochdale Connections Trust so if there are any local businesses who can offer employment, then details and CVs are available from:
