Head Over Heels, a ladies shoes and accessory boutique, is one of the many independent retailers who using of the Rochdale Online Department Store to sell their products.

Assma Khan, from Head Over Heels, said: “Everyone seems to be shopping online these days and this is a good way of branching out.”

Head Over Heels is selling a variety of accessories in the department store, including a number of handbags.

“We have lots of products and if I had more people to help then everything would be online but at the minute, it is just what I can manage to upload,” said Assma.

Assma has sold online before, using EBay. She added: “I have sold online before but I didn’t like the way EBay was doing things with the charges. They often don't listen to the retailer.”

Retailers who use the Rochdale Online Department Store can upload their products to the site without any fees or charges and are not limited to the number of products they can upload.

“The site is really easy, simple and straight forward to use and I like the fact that there are no [up front] charges. "I haven’t used Ebay for about three months now and thought this is a good way of getting back online,” said Assma.

By using the Rochdale Online Department Store, Assma can now reach an ever growing audience and can promote her business to over 100,000 unique visitors a months.

“Everyone has different ways of advertising themselves and promoting themselves and that is what I like about using Rochdale Online. It is a good way of letting people know who we are and what we do. Assma now hopes to continue adding products to the department store and to have more of her stock listed soon.

She added: “I have hundreds of shoes in the shop so hopefully I can get everything online at some point.”
