'Access All Areas' open event at Hopwood

Date published: 28 March 2022

Exciting things are happening at Hopwood Hall College and University Centre – and now you can see for yourself at its upcoming ‘Access All Areas’ Open Event.

The college – which is making huge investment to its buildings and facilities – will throw open its doors to the public from 4.30pm-7pm on Thursday 7 April.

Both school leavers and adult learners are welcome to attend and explore the countless career-boosting opportunities on offer.

Year 11s will get their first real taste of college life as they learn about post-school options such as Apprenticeships, BTECs and the revolutionary new T-Levels.

Visitors who are aged 19+ will also have a wide selection of pathways to choose from, including part-time courses that take place face-to-face, online and on a flexible basis.

In addition, anyone who’s considering a university-level course will be able to find out everything they need to know about studying at Hopwood’s University Centre.

It’s here where people can access life-changing Higher Education without the hassle or expense of moving away from home.

Those who want to go down this route but don’t have the qualifications required for this level of study can look forward to hearing about the popular routes in Access to Higher Education.

This event couldn’t come at a better time – with plenty of thrilling new sights to see at the campuses in Middleton and Rochdale.

The Middleton Campus is currently undergoing an £11 million transformation, with a multi-million-pound extension being made to the 6,500sq-m Technology Centre.

This state of the art building is just a stone’s throw away from campus staples such as the vast wildlife enclosures, the Sports Arena (complete with a free gym for all students) and the dazzling Hopwood Theatre.

Meanwhile, Rochdale features the newest and most modern equipment for courses such as Media, Games Development and Esports.

These hi-tech spaces sit alongside cutting edge areas such as inspiring art studios, a fully equipped dental nursing lab and the contemporary Riverside Salon.

Julia Heap, Principal and CEO of Hopwood Hall College and University Centre, said that visitors will be surprised by what they see.

She explained: “The college is getting bigger and better every day and I’d like to encourage people to check out some of the exciting things that are happening right now.

“I expect that many visitors will be surprised by how much both campuses are transforming.

“We’re not stopping there either, with even more investment being made to ensure we keep providing the best education for people of all ages in the community.

“My advice would be to come down and see for yourself because we’d love to show you exactly where you could be learning in the near future and all the different courses you have to choose from.”

During the event attendees will be able to speak to the expert tutors who will be teaching their course.

These individuals have years of experience in their respective fields – whether that’s Engineering, IT & Digital, Early Years or any number of courses taught at Hopwood Hall.

The ‘Access All Areas’ Open Event is on Thursday 7 April 4.30pm - 7pm and is registration only. Be sure to secure your place at: hopwood.ac.uk/events
