To celebrate a decade of business, local battery supplier Alpha Batteries is offering 10% off all products until the end of January for all customers.

Alpha has grown from humble beginnings over the years, starting as an online eBay shop from home to becoming one of the largest battery retailers in the UK, based at Spotland Bridge Mill in Rochdale.

Started by Chris Gabbott, who used to run the Eltonite chain of stores in Rochdale, Bury, Oldham and Manchester during the 1970s and 80s, the store quickly became eBay’s leading 12v battery site, offering top quality 12v batteries coupled with excellent value and service.

The success of this pushed Alpha Batteries into the world of online sales and presence resulting in an industry leading dedicated e-commerce site.

The company as it is today was officially formed on 4 January 2008 by Chris and his sons, John and Peter.

Since then, the business has grown, employing eight members of staff whilst boasting an extensive range of the latest products and cutting-edge technology such as solar panels, wind turbines, gel and lithium batteries and portable power stations.

Alpha Batteries also stocks leading brands such as Bosch, Lucas, Exide and Varta as well as their popular own brand, Nordstar.

Sales Director John said: “In the future, we are looking to expand into more renewable energy power including lithium batteries, which are lightweight and longer lasting. We have always kept our finger on the pulse and our commitment to offering the latest products at great prices will continue into the future.”

Alpha Batteries stocks a huge range of batteries covering a wide range of applications such as car, leisure, golf, industrial, commercial, agricultural and renewable energy batteries and many other types of power solutions.

There is also a trade counter and shop based in the mill (open during normal shop hours) for collection, testing plus fitting service.
