Trust Kip McGrath to make a difference in your child’s education

Date published: 28 September 2017

As your child heads into the autumn term of a new school year, turn over a new leaf and boost their education with Kip McGrath tuition.

With over 240 centres nationwide, plus international centres, Kip McGrath specialise in primary and secondary tuition in English, reading, comprehension and maths, offering a personalised learning programme, tailored for each and every child between the ages of six and 16.

Having over 40 years tutoring experience, the service will be opening its doors in Rochdale for the very first time on Tuesday 3 October. Located at Reed House on Hunter’s Lane, the centre will be run by Mark Meadows, who has over nine years’ experience as a school teacher.

A free assessment identifies your child’s strengths and weaknesses, based on their age and the areas of each subject you feel your child may need help with. A carefully tailored individual tuition programme, perfect for your child’s learning needs, will then be delivered by qualified teachers.

“A reading assessment is always carried out as problems with maths and writing can often be attributed to difficulties in reading,” Mark explained.

Once assessed, Kip McGrath’s tutors work with you to tailor a service to enhance your child’s learning. Sessions are small, allowing for no more than six children at once. The small session sizes mean each child can truly benefit from individual attention with one-on-one time with their tutor and allow them to build their independence and learning.

Mark, who is still a practicing teacher in Bury, continued: “Our way of teaching means the tutor is there for help and support but children are not coaxed towards a right answer. This way, they are able to apply the techniques they have learned to similar problems in school.”

Each 80-minute session is delivered in short 10-15-minute activities, ensuring your child stays attentive and focused. Specific activities are based on your child’s individual requirements, but consist of several computer-based activities, using Kip’s own software, or traditional pen-and-paper tasks for writing and spelling or maths and reading.

You will also be kept fully up to date with your child’s progress with regular feedback and reports.

If your child is working towards their GCSE exams, Kip McGrath can help them towards achieving their target grades by working towards the exam board specifications. As all of Kip McGrath’s tutors are qualified teachers, no-one else knows the current curriculum – and any changes - quite like them.

Tuition can also help improve your child’s confidence self-esteem as once-difficult problems become easy.

Mark described: “Children often become stuck in a rut and struggle at school when they feel like they can not learn. Being able to overcome the problems can massively increase their confidence levels and give them that extra boost of support.

“Tuition can fill the gaps in their knowledge, meaning they go to school and are enthusiastic about learning new things.”

Each session is paid for before attendance, ensuring flexible payment without tying you into any unwanted contracts.

“We believe so much in our service and want you to agree that it is as brilliant as we think it is, so you are not tied in to any obligations,” Mark added.

Sessions will be delivered between 4 and 5.30pm on Tuesdays, and between 4-5.30pm and 5.30-7pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
