Launch day for the all new TBD Chartered Accountants

Date published: 15 October 2016

TBD Associates Ltd, originally established by Rochdale business woman and Chartered Management Accountant Julie Bowmer, recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary, and having reached the big milestone decided to make changes.

Earlier this year Ms Bowmer made the decision to focus on some of her other business interests at which point Chartered Accountant and ICAEW member Andrew Barton and Katie Bowmer, who has worked within TBD for four years, have taken the opportunity to purchase the practice from her.

As a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW), it was necessary to form a new company to facilitate the purchase, and TBD Chartered Accountants began to trade on 1 October 2016.

Managing Director Andrew Barton said: “For our clients, there will be no change in terms of how we operate or the staff that we employ here apart from a new company name and a refresh to our branding and outlook.

"Katie and I have a fantastic vision and a real desire to take the new company forward and an integral part of this is to provide the highest levels of service to our clients. Julie will also remain a part of the TBD Chartered Accountants team working with us on a consultative basis.”

Servicing around 400 clients throughout the North West, TBD Chartered Accountants has a team qualified to deal with all aspects of accountancy from sole trader accounts to large limited companies and charities.

The plan for 2017 is to further expand its portfolio by offering additional services including corporate finance, archiving services and much more.

TBD Chartered Accountants intends to follow in the footsteps of TBD Associates by remaining as a Business Buddy for Springhill Hospice, as well as TBD’s Sales & Marketing Director, Katie Bowmer continuing on as a Trustee for the Rochdale Hornets Sporting Foundation.

Katie Bowmer said:  “Andy and I are extremely passionate about continuing the good work that TBD Associates began 10 years ago. We have many exciting plans for growth, partnerships with other local companies, as well as providing a service that is second to none. In addition to this we have launched a new scheme which we intend to continue every year giving an opportunity to one start-up company local to Rochdale to receive their accountancy fees free of charge for an entire year in the hope that it will give them the boost they need to becomes another successful business within the borough.”
