Secure your place before it’s too late!

Oldham College has limited places left on learning programmes and is encouraging students to come down and visit the campus to secure their place and make an application on the day.

The college which offers students a real alternative to sixth form and A Levels, with learning programmes focused on routes into work, apprenticeships or progression to Higher Education, is inviting potential students to visit them on their next Open Day to find why Oldham College is the right choice for them.

The Open Day which is being held on Saturday, 1 October, 11.00am - 2.00pm, will allow prospective students and their families to meet tutors and students, attend drop in sessions led by Heads of Faculty, see student work and tour the campus.

Registration is requested via the college's website at www.oldham.ac.uk/events

Parking is free on campus and complimentary refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

Sam Breckell, Vice Principal said: "I'm sure students will be impressed with what they find when they visit us on Open Day. We have a wealth of activities to showcase what we offer on our marvellous new campus, all geared to making sure that when our students leave us, they move into work, an apprenticeship or go to university. That's the technical and professional difference."

Student facilities have also been refurbished. This includes the Café Bar, Common Room, for students to meet friends and relax, and the Student Quarter which is also home to the Student Union and the Personal Development team, who offer a range of special events and enrichment programmes.

Highlights of the Open Day include have a go sessions:

  • construction industry skills
  • watch performing arts and music students rehearse
  • how to process a crime scene
  • take part in a scientific experiment
  • how to identify a disease
  • meet representatives of the Armed Forces
  • view an extensive range of students work across the college
  • meet Heads of Faculty during drop in sessions in the Student Quarter
