Starting 2016 in style at the Peacock Room

Date published: 08 February 2016

The Peacock Room, the award-winning fine dining restaurant in Rochdale, is starting the New Year in style with a revamped menu. Smaller plates to captivate guests at lunchtime, a mid-week special offer, and a new Afternoon Tea service.

Smaller plates to share at lunchtime

To attract lunchtime diners who appreciate fine food, The Peacock Room’s talented chefs have developed a collection of smaller plates, of which guests are recommended to choose a minimum of two dishes, tapas style, to share with fellow diners or to sample by themselves.

“The new menu format will allow guests to try smaller versions of our superb a la carte dishes at lunchtime. The flavours, cooking techniques and quality of ingredients will be exactly what our guests have come to expect but the size will be more suitable to enjoy at lunch.” – Cyril Capet, Restaurant Manager

A la carte mid-week deals

The lunchtime offer is not the only change to be seen on the menu of this 2 AA rosette restaurant. During mid-week, guests will be able to choose two courses from the a la carte menu from only £25, or three courses from only £30. Cyril continues: “We want to make sure we offer our guests superb value for money through the mid-week without compromising the quality of the dishes the chefs are producing, or the experience of dining in The Peacock Room. We believe we have developed a way of achieving this. We hope our guests will recognise the efforts we have gone to in bringing our menus to the next level.”

The beautifully decadent Peacock Room recently enjoyed a visit from Michelin inspectors who, following their visit, tweeted pictures of the food they enjoyed and highlighted the “accomplished cooking” by Executive Chef, Rob Walker. Rob, who was ecstatic to have received the tweet, commented: “I was very pleased that the inspector took the time to tweet. We had a very productive conversation following the inspection and we look forward to the next Michelin Guide being released. We currently hold a knife and fork award and we aim to retain or improve upon this.”

Afternoon tea

Finally, as if they weren’t busy enough, the team at the Peacock Room have decided to increase the opening hours. After returning from the winter break, the team will launch a new Afternoon Tea service. This is available Wednesday - Friday 2.00pm - 4.00pm and includes miniature desserts and pastries, hand crafted by experienced pastry chef, Kashia Walker.

Deckers Managing Director Max Brierley said: “The team have wanted to introduce afternoon tea for some time. They have worked hard developing this new addition to the restaurant’s service, and I cannot wait to enjoy the treats Kasia prepares. Her delicious desserts are simply sublime!”

At £15.95 per head, The Peacock Room Afternoon Tea is excellent value for money. And with a Hendricks afternoon tea or Prosecco afternoon tea available, The Peacock Room is offering different afternoon experiences with style and quality that will appeal to everyone.
