The Mercure Norton Grange Hotel & Spa has appointed a new general manager.
Damon Yoxall, 40, comes to the hotel with 25 years in the industry.
He started off washing pots in a hotel when he was 15-years-old and has worked his way up holding some prestigious roles up and down the country.
Mr Yoxall has worked predominately in the North West in places such as Southport, Manchester and Chester but he has also worked in Edinburgh, Jersey, the Lakes and Yorkshire.
He comes to Rochdale with a passion for community involvement and customer service.
“I love it here,” said Mr Yoxall. “It’s great, there are some lovely areas. There has been a lot of bad press about Rochdale recently, particularly about the town centre, but if you can see past that there are some really lovely places.”
He added: “The main reason I am here is to improve our customer service, ‘Passion for Service’ is the Mercure customer service initiative which is the driving force behind the business. Without customer service we have nothing.”
The Mercure Norton Grange boasts over 80 rooms and leisure and spa facilities with over 1,000 members.
Based on Manchester Road, Castleton, The Mercure Norton Grange, is also proving to be a popular choice for local businesses to hold their conferences, which are delivered with a special Norton Grange touch.
The Mercure Norton Grange is also a hugely popular wedding venue, boasting three function rooms and a scenic backdrop for those momentous photographs it is proving to be a real favourite – And this year they are hosting close to 100 weddings.
Mr Yoxall is keen for locals to visit The Mercure Norton Grange, whether it be for a spa or beauty treatment, lunch or an evening meal or for one of their many event nights.
He said: “We would like to see more non-residents (of the hotel) coming here. We are trying to promote non-residential dining and remind people that we are more than just a hotel.
