United Co-operatives Move Begins

United Co-operatives has now established its new head office at Sandbrook Park, Rochdale, with the first departments in place. The move will be completed in the coming weeks.

The £1.7 billion sales retailer announced plans for the move from Stoke on Trent to Rochdale more than two years ago at the time of the major merger between the former United Norwest and Yorkshire Societies which created United. Work began on the purpose built new head office in September 2003.

United employs 15,500 people across the Midlands and north of England and in Northern Ireland and around 80 will be based at the new Head Office.
