Local businesses Race to Raise Money for charity
Date published: 15/05/2006
Zen Internet has entered 45 staff members to take part in the Great Manchester Run due to be held on Sunday 21 May. While they test their running skills in this 10K race around the streets of Manchester, other Zen staff and members of the public can help them to raise money for the MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Society without taking a single step!
This is the third year that the ISP has been involved in the run. Last year Zen raised £2,030 for the MS Society and also received an award in the Corporate Challenge ‘Medium Business’ category, with the male team making third place. Team members are working to improve on last year’s excellent performance, with a focus on both race times and sponsorship levels.

Caroline Taylor, HR Manager and a member of Zen’s Social and Charities Committee commented:
“This is an important charity event for Zen and we aim to raise more by offering a chance for everyone to get involved, whether they are actually running or simply donating online. We have built up an excellent relationship with the MS Society through in-house events such as our recent cake sale and auction for Oldham Athletic executive box tickets, with all proceeds going to this charity from both activities.”
Rochdale Online also has a member of staff taking part in the run, Brad Journeaux, son of Rochdale Online founder Malcolm Journeaux, runs for the fourth year and is this time raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Brad said: "I am hoping to improve on my best time of 56 minutes as well as raise money for the charity."
