Young entrepreneurs Zac Emmerson and Tendekai Padya take on the fashion world

Date published: 11 February 2015

Young entrepreneurs Zac Emmerson and Tendekai Padya are currently taking the fashion world by storm.

The duo, who are both Siddal Moor students, founded clothing company EXRBAN in September 2014 out of their fascination and love of high-end street fashion.

Speaking to Rochdale Online, Tendekai said: “We started EXRBAN to define a movement - a contemporary cult that takes huge inspiration from high end fashion and street wear. Integrating both high end and street wear is where EXRBAN stands.”

Despite being relatively new arrivals on the fashion scene, the teenagers have brought a new and creative twist to the streets.

“Fashion is definitely something that Zac and I wanted to get into,” added Tendekai.

The friends, who met at school, currently have a large following with over 3,000 followers on Facebook and 15,000 Tumblr follows. They have also set up a website to advertise their business and intend to sell their range online.

Tendekai said: “Running our own business is challenging although we enjoy the challenge we are faced with every day. We don't really operate like a typical business, we seem to let things flow which can be our best friend and worst enemy. Zac is a firm believer in dissecting the business of fashion with the art of fashion in order to create the best work.”

Since the launch of EXRBAN the pair have seen interest from across the globe and have been approached by smaller retailers who want more information about their designs.

They now plan to open a shop in Affleck’s Palace in the next month or so and are busy designing a new range that will include joggers, hoodies and t-shirts.

The pair currently work from their homes but are keen to expand with Tendekai hoping to be selling and designing clothes from Paris in the future.

He added: “In five years’ time we see us headquartered in Paris.”

The EXRBAN FW15 collection is due to be released this month.
