Jamilla Paul and Mike Newton to launch new venture

Jamilla Paul, Rochdale Businesswoman of the Year 2013, and Mike Newton, Rochdale Businessman of the Year 2014, are collaborating on the launch of a new venture.

Jamilla, owner of three local award winning salons, and Mike, owner of Treat Yourself Boutique, will share space in a 'Treat Yourself Blow Dry & Make Up Bar' at new premises on Milnrow High Street.

Their collaboration will see Rochdale’s first 'one stop shop' for everything you could possibly need to feel glamourous for any occasion.

Jamilla and Mike, who have built a strong business friendship over the last 18 months, are excited about their new venture.

Jamilla said: “I am thrilled to be collaborating with Mike, he is an adorable energetic young business owner who has all the values I did 15 years ago when I was his age at the beginning of my journey in business. He has built his business in such a short space of time, which is testament to his hard work, and scooping the awards at the business awards in November showed proof of his dedication to his business.

"I see this as a long term collaboration with potentially a chain of Treat Yourself Boutiques collaborating with Treat Yourself Make Up & Blow Dry Bars."

Mike said: “I am so excited to get the best Christmas present ever, the keys to my new shop. I felt it was time to relocate my current premises to a larger store to create a unique one stop shop. I often go to Jamilla for advice on business and the collaboration is a natural progression. I feel the brand has grown so much that I need to relocate to service not just our local customers but also customers that are travelling from very far to visit us and Milnrow High Street is perfect as it is just off the motorway junction."

Treat Yourself Boutique launched just 18 months ago from a market stall and has experienced rapid growth since applying to the Prince's Trust and launching their website.

Jamilla Paul has built an exceptional brand and is widely considered to be one of the hairdressing elite, renowned for her creative flair and attention to detail. With her wealth of experience, Jamilla has lent her expertise to some of the world’s most famous designers, and has travelled around the world providing her services to the rich and famous.

The new venture, Treat Yourself Blow Dry & Make Up Bar in Milnrow, will open the first week in January.
