Local hairdressing academy wins prestigious award

Date published: 29 March 2020

A Rochdale hairdressing academy has won the Training Academy of the Year Award at the recent English Hair and Beauty Awards.

Over 600 businesses from across the UK attended the award ceremony earlier this month, with the Rochdale-based Maxwell Melia Academy taking gold.

Maxwell Melia Academy specialises in hair extension and hair loss training and provides education and business opportunities. They have also been involved of charity work for those at all ages suffering with hair loss.

The award comes after the business also won Training Centre of the Year at the Manchester Prestige Awards last year.

Emily Schofield, founder of Maxwell Melia Academy, said: “We went to the awards and were absolutely ecstatic when we found out we had won! We have been running for just three years and this is already our second award.

“Of course, we won’t stop here. We’re always working to make the best hair extension training even better.”

The winners were chosen based on public votes, reviews, customer support, graduate’s success, charity work and business success and growth.

The awards aim to celebrate the best in the beauty industry, as well as thank those who show great commitment, professionalism, creativity and care for their clients.
