'Christmassy' windows at Middleton's Small Business Saturday

Date published: 04 December 2018

Middleton celebrated Small Business Saturday by holding a Christmas Window Dressing Competition.

Victoria Davies, Town Centre and Market Manager said: “We asked that all small businesses decorate and dress their windows in the most 'Christmassy' fashion and a certificate and prize was given to the best one.

“Judges for this were Liz McInnes MP for Middleton and Heywood and Councillor Donna Williams - Chair of Middleton Township, who both took time out of their busy schedules to take a tour around Middleton Centre and decide on the lucky winner.

“We had a total of 12 small, independent businesses who took part and both judges agreed it was a tough decision; with many businesses having fabulous window displays.

“Marks out of 10 were awarded to find our winner and we were pleased to announce that 'Silhouette Hair and Beauty Clinic' on Long Street was declared our winner.

“The business received a framed certificate and bottle of pink champagne for all their hard work.

Owner and Manager of Silhouette, Bev Fielding said: “I am really chuffed with the award for our Christmas window.

“ The girls worked really hard on it.

“I've had Silhouette for 30 years in February and wouldn't have my shop in any other town."
