Chantilly wins award for Excellence and Outstanding Achievement

Date published: 27 November 2018

Rochdale based lingerie, swimwear and nightwear specialists Chantilly has won the 'Excellence and Outstanding Achievement' award at the 2018 Stars: Underlines Best Shop Awards.

Marjorie Thompson from Chantilly said: “The Chantilly team are extremely proud. We would like to thank our lovely loyal customers who have voted for us, we cannot thank you enough for your support. This award is very meaningful as it is a public vote.

“This was the 10th anniversary of the awards and we have been nominated and shortlisted every single year since the inauguration, from over 400 shops in the whole of the United Kingdom. I really did not think that we stood any chance of winning this time as we were up against Fenwick’s of Bond Street, Bentall’s and six other well established retailers and online stores.

“We are totally humbled by the support and lovely comments that were made on the voting platform. To put into context how prestigious these awards are, two of this year’s winners were John Lewis for Best Department Store and Fig Leaves for best E-tailer.

“I believe our success is down to our amazing offer of quality products, fantastic staff (we have over 110 years experience between us) and in-depth product knowledge.

“Once again, I would like to thank all of our loyal customers, some of whom are third generation since we opened 34 years ago.”

Last year, Chantilly won the ‘Superstar Award’ at the Stars: Underline awards for the best bricks and mortar shop established over 25 years. In 2015, they won the ‘Excellence and Outstanding Achievement’ award for the first time and in 2012 won ‘Best Personal Touch Award’.

Organised by Underlines Magazine, Stars is unique in the UK retail award scene as stores, shops and retail sites cannot nominate themselves, but are put forward by the brands on the jury - it is by reputation, good business practice and good service that the outlets gain a place on the finalist roster, with the event drawing together every sector of retailing in the UK and Ireland.

2018 marked the 10th edition of the awards which this year, were hosted at the renowned cabaret venue, Café de Paris, in London’s West End.
