Jonathan James Lettings supports community projects

Date published: 16 October 2018

Rochdale-based letting agency Jonathan James Lettings has shown support for two community groups.

The letting agents has sponsored the front of the Rochdale AFC Ladies team’s shirts across all ages for the next year and also become the latest supporter of the Red Box Project.

Jonathan Lumb, owner of Jonathan James Lettings, said: “What an honour it is to have the opportunity to sponsor Rochdale AFC Ladies.

“I wish them all the best of luck for the 2018/19 season.”

Keith Hicks, The Football in the Community Head, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Jonathan James Lettings on board. They are a local company who have shown a great interest in and a desire to support our Ladies football teams. Our teams were hugely successful last season and with the backing of Jonathan James Lettings we hope that success can continue in the future.”

Last season, the Ladies teams scooped nine trophies for their efforts.

Additionally, Jonathan James Lettings has signed up to support the local Red Box Project, a campaign aimed to prevent period poverty within the local community and ensure no young women in Rochdale miss school or suffer embarrassment because they have their period.

He added: "I thought the project fell in line with the sponsoring the girls' shirts, so we're going to help boost their online profile with links on everything we post via social media."

Period poverty is a very real problem as one in ten girls (10%) have been unable to afford sanitary wear, whilst one in seven girls (15%) have struggled to afford sanitary products.

The Red Box Project was initiated in March 2017 by three friends who wanted to give young women in their local area access to sanitary products, and has been brought to Rochdale by co-ordinator Anna Stokes, from Heywood.
