Bluebird Care launches in Rochdale

Date published: 01 October 2018

The Rochdale branch of Bluebird Care was opened by Mayor Mohammed Zaman on Monday (1 October).

The launch took place at Bluebird’s offices on Mellor Street, where refreshments were served.

Local couple John and Beryl Keogh, who are running the Rochdale branch, returned to the area when John left the Army after 26 years’ service in Germany, Ireland and Brunei among other places.

Beryl has over 20 years’ experience working with vulnerable people. She has been working within the care sector in the UK since 2013.  Prior to that, while husband John was serving in the army and the family were frequently moving, she was employed in the education sector, often within the special educational needs (SEN) specialisation.

John said: “My vision is to strive for quality. I’m really passionate about looking after our carers and staff. I am ambitious, I want Bluebird Care to become the best and raise the bar for other providers in the area. We need to attack and beat social isolation. I see the company as a team, and it’s my job to make sure we are looking after our carers so that they can provide the highest quality of home care.”

After the Mayor cut the ribbon, he said: “It is great to see another business venture in Rochdale. Beryl and John are passionate about this sector. People should have a choice and be able to choose their own service provider. Good luck and best wishes to them.”

Bluebird Care is a national brand with over 200 franchises operating across the country.

The Rochdale office will deliver home care and support services across the Heywood, Middleton, Rochdale and Whitworth areas.
