Date published: 02 March 2017

GP Care Services Limited has acquired The Village Medical Centre in Littleborough.

Negotiations were conducted with the local Clinical Commissioning Group, the Care Quality Commission and NHS England for the two-stage handover for an undisclosed sum.

Gail Whitehead, Chief Officer of GP Care Services said: "We are pleased to have added this Personal Medical Services practice to our growing portfolio of health services in the local communities in which we operate.

"We shall aim to brand the practice at Littleborough with the same high standards that we provide in our other services across the boroughs."

David Leviten, partner at Clough & Willis, handled the commercial property aspects of the deal, whilst Guy Lachlan, associate corporate commercial solicitor at the firm, provided company and commercial law advice.

Guy Lachlan commented: "The transaction required considerable coordination between all the parties, including the Clinical Commissioning Group and the public sector bodies, to secure the smooth transition of the business.

"We have acted for GP Care Services since its formation in 2008 and are pleased that it continues to expand its operations so successfully."

Financial and accounting advice was provided to GP Care Services by Peter Carlin at Thompson Jones.

Funding was provided through Wayne Dixon at Barclays in Oldham.

The seller was represented by Lisa Geary and Ruth Griffiths at Capsticks and by Ramsay Brown & Partners for financial and accounting advice.
