Team Karting on track for huge success

Date published: 27 April 2016

Rochdale’s only indoor karting track, Team Karting, is attracting people from all over Greater Manchester and the North West, with over 50,000 visitors in the past year.

With a 100% tarmac track - having recently been extended it is now the longest in Greater Manchester - Team Karting has taken all the right turns.

Manager Matty Street told Rochdale Online about how the growth since opening on Queensway in January 2015 has really put the business in the driving seat.

He said: “I’m really proud to be able to say that we have become so popular in such a short space of time.

“Groups of people are coming in from Huddersfield, Wigan, Chester and all over Greater Manchester because they have read our reviews and they know what sort of reputation we have. To say we’ve only been open a year and a half, I think it has been incredible.”

With over 500 metres of track and 19 corners to master, drivers can enjoy a real challenge.

Rochdale Online reporter Kirsty Rigg tried her hand at driving one of the karts. She said: “Driving the karts is easy and it is really great fun to have a whiz around. The tarmac stops you from sliding around all over the place like you do on some other tracks, which was great for me because I took some corners quite ambitiously.”

Team Karting has been dubbed online as the most challenging and exhilarating karting track in the North West.

With the new 'Bambino' karts, children as young as five can take the wheel and enjoy the track.

One review, from Jason E, read: “I can't big this place up enough. It's really well organised, track is excellent and staff even better. Safety is their priority and the kids actually listened to what they had to say.

"My daughter invited a few of her friends to join her and they all loved it. I think we'll definitely be back but next time I'll be in the driving seat.

"Keep up the good work Team Karting.”
