Summer Scheme Playworker

Temporary, Part Time
Employer: New Springs Community Project Group
Hours: 20 hours per week for 4 weeks

Are you enthusiastic, organised and interested in working with children and young people?

New Springs Community Project Group (NSCPG) is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Playworker and a Playworker, to help us deliver our summer holiday playscheme for children between the ages of 8 and 14 in the Springs area of Bury.

Both Playworkers will work as part of a team to provide opportunities for all children to explore both themselves and the communities they live in. This involves both indoor and outdoor activities, so you should be willing to work with the natural elements, get messy and generally ensure that the children have fun. In addition to this, the Senior Playworker will be responsible for overseeing the general day to day organising is completed to the required standard and supervising a playworker and a team of local volunteers.

Our playscheme operates on an 'open access' basis which allows children to choose when, and for how long they stay in the play setting. As the senior playworker you will ensure the team are involved in the planning and delivery of a programme to give children the incentive to play and be able to recognise when activities and the play environment needs to change.

The playscheme operates three days per week over four weeks of the summer holidays. You need to be fully available from Monday 30th July to Friday 24th August.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to a successful Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
